Our group of geotechnical engineers are dedicated in presenting quality service and expertise to geotechnical solutions. MERLEX offers its clients a variety of professional services from design and recommendations at the conceptual and design stages of a project to the construction quality control and monitoring during the building construction. Projects vary from small local developments to large industrial, commercial and institutional projects. Prior to carrying out field testing, the engineering staff at MERLEX will design an investigation applicable to the specific project by reviewing our library of geotechnical data and designing an intrusive investigation, using conventional drilling and sampling methods, which are applicable to the specific site.

On an ever increasing number of projects, we are utilizing a flat plate dilatometer (DMT) which is a proven and very cost effective method of investigation.

Frequently, senior members of our engineering staff have been retained by clients to investigate distress to structures that are related directly or indirectly to ground conditions or construction activities. The resulting distress is the only evidence to work with and our staff carry out a detailed investigation from this point to establish the cause and identify potential solutions to the problem. Through the application of sound engineering principles, our staff have been successful in evaluating and remediating some very unique problems. All our information is accurately documented in an engineering report and our senior staff members are available to provide expert witness services if and when required.
